Course Registration

It is our hope that your experience with us during your high school career is filled with many academic and personal successes. In order to help create some of those successes the Registration Guide will assist you in making intelligent and conscious decisions about course selection. Delano High School prides itself in offering a wide array of learning opportunities. Planning a high school program to meet your unique needs and interests is a process to be taken seriously and one that involves myriad choices and decision. While your success is paramount to us, it begins with personal responsibility to evaluate and plan your course offerings. The following suggestions may help you in this process:

  • Discuss your career plans with parents, counselor, and teachers.

  • Select courses that meet Delano graduation requirements, Minnesota graduation standards, and Minnesota Academic Standards, as well as your future educational and career goals.

  • Do not select classes based on your friends’ choices or on your impression of the instructor. Your friends will not be with you when you enter college or embark upon a career. Your concentration in a class must be on the course content.

  • During the registration process, consider your course selections as permanent. It is difficult to rearrange a student schedule once the master schedule is set.

Graduation Requirements

Earning College Credits in High School

Four-Year Planning

Students at Delano High School are required to earn a specific number of credits to meet our graduation requirements. With our schedule redesign, each grade year has a different number of final credits required. Classes of 2027 and beyond will all have the same number of credits required (per the schedule redesign). Credits are accumulated in grades 9-12. To learn more about your grad year requirements, see the Registration Guide.
